Toyota will recall more than 3,300 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid SUVs for front seat and airbag problems.

The recall affects 3,100 vehicles in the United States and 248 vehicles in Canada.

The U.S. recall affects both Highlander and Highlander Hybrids.

Toyota said that one or both of the front seats in Highlander and Highlander Hybrid vehicles may have the wrong trim covers, which could prevent proper deploying of the seat-mounted side airbags.

Toyota said that owners should receive recall notices in December 2020, after which Toyota dealers plan on replacing fault seat trim covers.
