Some Ram truck owners are being told to park their diesel trucks outdoors because they may suffer engine fires.

Fiat Chrysler, merged into Stellantis, issued a recall of more than 20,000 model year 2021 diesel trucks because the heater electrical relays can short and overheat.

These problems can result in vehicle fires, even when the engines are off.

The recalled vehicles include some 2021 Ram 2500, 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cab trucks with 6.7-L Cummins diesel engines.

The automaker says it is aware of three fires.

A recall is expected to start April 30. A repair has yet to be determined.
